New to CrossFit, what to expect?
If you are thinking about joining Cosmic CrossFit, you can expect to get in a good workout and have a lot of fun doing it! We blast some music, lift weights, get in some cardio, cheer on our members, and congratulate our friends when the workout is over! It’s the best hour of our day! Below you can read how we do things at Cosmic CrossFit.
There are many different aspects when it comes to CrossFit. CrossFit likes to focus on the workouts, lifestyle, community, variation, functional movements, and high intensity.
The workouts are an hour long and are coached by one of our certified coaches. Classes are limited to 20 people to make sure the coach has the opportunity to work with each individual person. If you aren’t sure what the movements are or how to do them, no worries, the coach will explain the workout in detail and show you how to perform each movement safely.
At cosmic, we are here to help you with appropriate diet and exercise. We are always willing to share our knowledge on proper nutrition and guide you to a better and healthier lifestyle. Being healthy starts in the kitchen and when you combine that and exercise, you are going to see a strong and beautiful transformation.
One of the best things about CrossFit is the community. Our community is welcoming, friendly, and fun. We all started at the beginning and everyone remembers their first day. It can be scary and overwhelming but the love that you feel from the other members makes the workout very rewarding. There’s nothing better than hearing the other members cheer you on!
Each day is a completely different workout than the day before. The workouts are programmed to help you improve in all areas. The beauty of CrossFit is that we can scale each movement to your current level. The coaches can modify for any and all skill levels, and/or previous injuries. Can’t do a pull-up? No problem. We will do ring rows instead.
CrossFit is known for its functional everyday movements. The movements that we work on will help you complete daily tasks. We show you how to properly pick up heavy objects (think moving boxes), squatting (think playing on the ground with your kids/grandkids), how to lift things above your head (think overhead luggage storage), and so much more. CrossFit movements will help prepare your body for the rest of your life.
All of our workouts are timed and you are constantly racing against the clock. This really works the cardio aspect of working out. You always want to get one more rep or finish the workout one second faster, but that doesn’t mean you have to be the fastest. You are always competing against yourself to be better than you were yesterday. Want to be able to walk up the stairs without being winded, CrossFit can help you.
